BUT WE CERTAINLY WONT HEAR THE END OF THE FIGHTER THAT IS, LEANNE
She’s battled Cancer from the age of 21, fought to achieve her lifelong dreams and has never let anything stand in her way. London’s newest and freshest Celebrity, Leanne Grose suffered a devastating blow on 14th November 2008.
Leanne’s life has certainly been a whirlwind as we all know and she’s certainly suffered from several low points in her life where her health is concerned but not once has this let her get down, she’s always managed to pick herself right back up and come back bigger and better than ever, which is probably one of the reasons why Leanne is so well respected worldwide.
Since moving to London Leanne became an instant smash on the airwaves launching herself into radio presenting and was quickly snapped up by several stations wanting the ‘Leanne quick wit, infectious sense of fun and honesty on their stations’. As well as shining as a radio presenter Leanne also appears on television, has immense backing from The Guardian, Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, to name a few as well as the glossy magazines as she’s regularly snapped with fellow celebrities at functions in the capital.
On 14th November this year this rising star had an extremely bad accident in her home. Leanne has worked tirelessly during past months travelling the Country doing personal appearances, attending charity events, giving talks and book signings and had travelled the length and breadth of the County during the month of this accident.
Leanne had been warned by doctors to take a well earned rest which she had planned to do and was only due to fulfil commitments that were in the diary and in a cruel twist of fate Leanne had an accident in her home and was immediately raced by ambulance to a local hospital where doctors revealed that she had broken her tibia, fibula, smashed her ankle, damaged her hips and badly hit her head. A hospital spokesperson announced ‘When Leanne does something she really does it in style – obviously as Leanne only has one leg it’s going to be a harder battle for her and we are treating this extremely seriously so we can ensure she returns to full health and can still wear her trademark high heel !’
Leanne was operated on where surgeons inserted metal plates and screws to put Leanne’s leg and ankle back together.
Fellow patients at the hospital must certainly have been curious as each day gifts and messages from around the world flooded in following news of Leanne’s accident. Flowers, chocolates, jewellery, cards as well as a Nintendo DS and an engraved IPod arrived from Leanne fans wishing her well.
Leanne was unavailable for comment but her spokesperson says ‘Leanne has found this extremely difficult, she is very much in demand at the moment and one of the first things she was worried about was letting people down, that’s the type of person she is and that’s why so many people love her. We’ve not had another celebrity who’s received more good wishes, love and support worldwide as Leanne and it’s totally what she deserves. She is now recovering with her family and attending regular hospital visits. She is someone who loves people and loves to be busy and it’s taken this for her to take some well earned rest but she knows she will be back bigger and better than ever – Leanne is well loved and she knows that and that is really helping her through this difficult time’.
As well as fans that have brought her autobiography ‘Just a Step’, fitness DVD ‘Leanne’s Chair Workout’ and her radio listeners many of Leanne’s celebrity fans have been lending much support.
A close friend of Leanne’s, Soul Diva, Beverley Knight said ‘Leanne is an amazing, forthright, moving and inspirational woman. She’s is one of god’s very best !
Other celebrity friends who have been in touch with Leanne personally to give their support through this difficult time have been Danielle Lloyd, WAG and TV Presenter, Lizzie Cundy, Office Star, Ewen MacInTosh, Liberty X’s Michelle Heaton, as well as many others.
Leanne’s spokesperson says of her fellow celebrity supporters ‘it goes to show how much Leanne is not only loved but respected by her peers. We’ve had support from every section, including cards and messages from organisations including Macmillan Cancer Care (of which Leanne is a spokesperson and celebrity supporter), Cancer Research UK (of which Leanne one of their celebrity supporters), The Limbless Association and Push 2 Freedom (which supports troops coming back from war).
It’s predicted that Leanne will be off our airwaves and screens until late January next year where she’s certainly planning to come back with a bang. A source within the Leanne camp tells me that she’s due to release another book, a collection of mini books, a 2010 calendar, her own personalised range of crutches and many more products within the Leanne range, as well as returning to her much loved radio presenting and TV work. She also plans to do a Celebrity 150 mile bike ride across France with charity, Push For Freedom in which she’s been sponsored by specialised bike and mobility company InvaCare and a mammoth tour of the United States which has been partly sponsored by American Airlines. Leanne certainly has her work cut out in 2009 so we wish her much love and pray that she gets better as soon as possible.
As for 2008 ? apart from her recent bad luck I’m sure she can call it a success, releasing a top selling autobiography, fitness DVD, thrown herself out of an aeroplane for charity, working with Trinny & Susannah, Trevor Sorbie, and many more, presenting children’s radio, securing her own radio show in West London, travelling the country as well as shaking off rumours in her personal life about her romantic connections with Russell Brand, Celebrity Hairdresser, Stuart Phillips, A well known Eastenders star, and several other well known admirers. We know Leanne will pick herself up and come back fighting !!

Exciting News

Hello there everyone !! Hope everyone is keeping well and thank you
for coming back to check out my latest blog.
I’ve had a rollercoaster couple of weeks which actually started off
with me spending a bit of time in hospital ! As some of you may know, I have to go back for appointments and scans so it was good to get another one out of the way.
Some more exciting news – I’ve been asked to be the ‘key note speaker’
at the Executive PA Awards in Kensington, London on 10th October and it looks to be an amazing event. Clare my manager will be coming along
with me together with some representatives from Head Office at Macmillan Cancer Research as proceeds from my talk will go to them and the amazing work that they do.

In the beginning...

Hi everyone and welcome to my very first online blog. It’s a chance for me to tell you what I’m up to whilst touring around the UK and what projects and products are in the pipeline !
It’s such an exciting time for me and still so surreal so thank you all again for your amazing support.
This year has been really busy, I’ve signed with a new manager, Clare Hudson and new publicist, James Wong of Hudson PR and we’ve got some great things you will shortly be seeing everywhere.
This week – destination Nottingham !
I’ve never actually been to Nottingham before so it’s another tick on the map (my geography certainly has got better since doing all of this !!). I was very honoured to be asked to be a guest speaker for the Annual Macmillan Conference at The Nottingham University.
On the Monday night I had the priveledge of introducing someone who I believe is going to be an absolute smash this year, Tim Daniel.
You will probably have already heard loads of his work as he’s an amazing writer, writing songs for the likes of Delta Goodrum, Simon Webbe, formerly from Blue, Victoria Beckham and many more. He’s now taken the plunge and putting himself out there releasing his own album called ‘Putting It To Bed’ and it will certainly be top of my ‘to buy’ list ! his music is beautiful and ladies – he’s pretty cute too !! and aswell as that he’s a lovely guy so I had great fun introducing him at the event and cracked many jokes along the way !!
The following day I had a rehearsal in the morning for my talk at 1.45pm followed by some filming I did whilst I was there.
I actually never get nervous at doing a talk or speech, I simply enjoy every moment and get quite excited. Although we rehearsed for sound, etc I never prepare in advance as I prefer to talk naturally and unscripted.
Walking down infront of an auditorium full of the top people I was greeted by generous cheers and applause.
It was an easy talk for me to do as I am so passionate about Macmillan and the amazing work that they do.
After my talk I did a demonstration of my latest DVD ‘Leanne’s Chair Workout’. At the front of the auditorium looking up as hundreds of people doing my DVD was surreal and such fun.
As I finished and stood up (doing my little coutsy !) I couldn’t believe it as I looked up and the crowd broke into amazing applause and all started to stand – my very first standing ovation.
I found it really hard not to cry as I felt so proud. This event was filmed and the footage will be on here shortly so check back in soon !
From Nottingham Clare (my new manager) and I travelled to Northampton and signed a very exciting new deal – I’ve been forced to secrecy but watch this space as I’ll be exclusively revealing the news shortly !!
I also have to talk about another appearance I gave in Bristol at Penny Brohn’s Aerobathon. Penny Brohn are amazing organisation who look after people with cancer and give them the ultimate in rest bite and care. I was treated to a ‘reflexology’ session in their beautiful surroundings and left some of my books for their lovely library for patients.
I kick started their aerobathon with a fitness demonstration to get everyone ‘working up a sweat’ whilst raising money. I am certainly a new big fan of PENNY BROHN.
Again, I have been inundated by emails and letters from all over the world. Reading so many heartbreaking stories breaks your heart and I only wish I could meet everyone to give them a big hug and help further. I always reply to each one and I can assure you I get to read them all personally. My special love to some very special people this week – one gentleman and his family after their 6 year old daughter lost her foot, the gorgeous ‘Julie’ who sent me some fab pictures as she’s lost loads of weight doing my DVD and the dear husband and wife who are going through a tough time following Jim’s amputation – special thoughts with you all !
